Sun Life Financial is a leading international financial services organization providing a diverse range of wealth accumulation and protection products and services to individuals and corporate customers. The client needed custom assembled kits of time-sensitive material delivered on demand to its customers nationwide.

The Need:
• Manage inventory for assembly of multi-component kits of time sensitive material
• Assemble kits within 24 hours of order time and make ready for shipment to various destinations
• Bulk ship kits to multiple distribution centers for ultimate delivery to client’s broker network

The Challenge:
• Deliver materials in conjunction with a variety of product launch dates
• Receive (from multiple sources), track and inventory the components required to assemble hundreds of kit versions
• Provide real-time reporting on inventory stock and kits shipped

• Established a dedicated account team for each kitting project
• Developed a match code protocol to inventory and track components
• Purchased specially designed boxes to securely ship and better inventory client material
